The UCBA Writing Center is a place for students to increase their writing, reading, and study skills for any class they may be taking this year. The lab consists of multiple professional tutors (most are English teachers), whose job is to help improve students’ knowledge in these subjects.
The program also offers free extra English textbooks to loan if needed for the semester, and Skype tutoring for the writing portion is also a possibility for some students. This is a convenient way for students to get the help they need from right at home and be able to make time.
The lab is run by Maria Damen, who is also getting used to the adjustment of switching rooms due to the UCBA library renovation. The new space is located in Muntz 324 for the entire fall semester. Lab hours are Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Appointments can be made on the Starfish link found on Blackboard, but walk-ins are also welcome.
For more information, contact Professor Damen at 513-745-5733, or walk into the Writing Center.
